DAY: THURSDAY | GUESTS: 39
Timeless simplicity and elegant ease perfectly describe Maddy and Dean’s intimate micro-wedding set in the lush gardens of McKell Park overlooking Sydney Harbour. Initially, they planned to elope in Portugal (where Dean proposed) planning a small legal ceremony with immediate family here in Sydney before jetting off. However, as their overseas wedding plans grew increasingly complicated and costly, they discovered the joy and ease of working with Weekday Wedded Bliss, inspiring them to pivot their plans and create a slightly larger, yet still beautifully simple, Sydney wedding.
To retain the intimacy of an elopement, the couple chose to save their personal vows for a private moment during their couple portrait sessions with just their photographer and videographer there to capture the moment. This allowed them to have their family and friends at the ceremony but also share their heartfelt promises in a personal and private way.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the lawn at Chiswick Restaurant before moving indoors to a private dining room for a delicious meal, heartfelt speeches, and cake!
Though Portugal may still be on their horizon (perhaps for a vow renewal) Maddy and Dean’s garden wedding was the perfect way to celebrate their love, while staying true to their values and creating memories to last a lifetime.
