Why only weekdays?
Offering weekday packages allows us to secure you the best vendors at a great price. Plus it means you don’t have to plan and book everything over a year out as top vendors book out early, especially for peak times.
Can we get married with Weekday Wedded Bliss on the weekend?
Our packages are not available on weekends as many of our vendors are booked for these dates far in advance, making it much more difficult for us to put a team together. However we’d be happy to send you our list of recommended vendors for you to contact about your weekend wedding.
How soon can we get married?
To be married in Australia you need to give at least one month and no more than 18 months notice. This is done by completing and signing a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM), having it witnessed and lodging it with your celebrant (see below). The team at WWB are experienced in pulling weekday elopements and micro-weddings together in as little as 4 weeks!
Do your packages include venue hire/permit fees?
No our packages do not include booking of your venue/location or any fees incurred. This is because these fees vary hugely depending on what type of venue/location it is, how many guests you’re having and what kind of set up your ceremony involves.
Do you plan the reception?
No, our packages are ceremony-only packages. Many of our couples choose to have small celebrations after either at home, a restaurant or other casual location rather than a traditional reception.
Are you a wedding planning service?
No we are not wedding planners in the traditional sense of the word. All our packages are designed to be simple enough to not require an on-the-day planner/coordinator on site. This allows us to keep our costs down. If you are planning a larger, more elaborate weekday wedding, we recommend employing the services of an experienced wedding planner who can help you with every aspect of your day.
Where do we get the NOIM?
Right here! Click to download.
Who can witness the NOIM?
Your celebrant, provided you can meet with them to do so between 1 and 18 months prior to your ceremony. One pre-ceremony meeting is included in all our packages.
If that’s not possible, check out the below…
In Australia – an authorised celebrant, a Commissioner for Declarations under the Statutory Declarations Act 1959, a justice of the peace, a barrister or solicitor, a legally qualified medical practitioner, or a member of the Australian Federal Police or the police force of a State or Territory.
Outside Australia – an Australian Consular Officer, an Australian Diplomatic Officer, a notary public, an authorised employee of the Commonwealth or an authorised employee of the Australian Trade Commission.
How do we get our NOIM to Weekday Wedded Bliss?
If you’re not completing with your celebrant and have arranged another witness, you can email it to us at marryme@weekdayweddedbliss.com.au
What else do we need to consider?
To be legally married in Australia you must be over 18 years old, you cannot be married to anyone else at the time, both parties must be consenting to the marriage and you cannot be intoxicated at the time of the ceremony (both the last points are at the celebrant’s discretion).
What else do we need to do?
In order for us to take care of all the legalities of getting married, there are a few things we need to see. If you’re meeting with your celebrant before the ceremony, you’ll bring these along then. If you’re not meeting your celebrant beforehand you MUST bring these with you on the day.
- Identification
Passport (does not have to be current) or;
An original birth certificate and drivers licence/proof of age car/ID card (must be current). - If you’ve been married before:
Certificate of Death/Divorce
How do we book?
Simply complete contact form and we’ll get back to you to let you know if your date/time is available.
What do we need to bring on the day?
- Your (sober) selves. We can’t marry you if you are intoxicated.
- Two witnesses who are over 18 and speak/understand English (we can arrange these for a small additional fee if you don’t have anyone to bring along)
- Your ID and relevant documents (if we have not already sighted them)
Without all your ID and legal documentation we cannot legally marry you.
What time do we need to arrive?
You must arrive 30 minutes prior to your ceremony to meet your celebrant and take care of all the legalities before go-time!
How many guests can we invite?
Each package has a set guest limit. If you would like to invite more than that, let us know and we’ll work out how that affects the package price.
Can we add extra things to our package?
Absolutely! You can add extra hours of photography, hair and makeup for additional people, additional floral, furniture and styling items. We recommend choosing and booking your package and then when you chat to your vendors you can explain what you’re after and they will make recommendations about how to achieve that. Any changes or additions to your package are added to your final invoice.
Does WWB take a cut of vendor fees?
No, we do not take a cut or percentage of vendor fees. All our vendors are paid a their full weekday rate. This is important to us to ensure a high quality of service. We charge a small planning/admin fee to cover the time spent meeting with a couple, providing advice and recommendations, contacting vendors re. availability, booking and paying vendors and creating a run sheet to ensure the wedding day runs smoothly.
